The food was great but our waiter Tom was not. As he continued to address the ladies as honey he neglected to bring items that were ordered back to the table. The table behind me had a older couple that was also having the same problem we were having. They were not happy. He would disappear for moments at a time, forget beverages, parts of the order and no report on why our order took over 25 minutes. Other waitresses noticed we needed more coffee and didn't have our food. Even the manager noticed it without us telling anyone. He comes back asking is there a problem because the manager said something to him. I ordered my son a apple juice that didn't come until we were done eating because Tom forgot. If he wasn't so busy chatting it up with other tables instead of attending to the ones he had, the experience may have been better. But again the food was great, your seated very quickly, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Maybe it was just that waiter. The other staff gave us more attention than he did.

First, Yelp they open at 6:30am not 6:00 am. I just had breakfast at flap jacks, nothing special. I ordered just eggs, turkey bacon, fresh fruit and wheat toast. It was breakfast nothing great. I have nothing special to say about the food, sevice was great (but I was their only customer at 6:30). I would only go back, to take my husband for his opinion.

I thought the food was good although coffee was very weak. I went in with my husband and 2 children. We had ordered 3 breakfasts and a bowl of soup. First off it's 5 for a bowl of soup and u don't even get a little piece of bread with it. Nor is bread offered at the restaurant. Our bill came to $60! We have never paid more then 45 for breakfast! Generally coffee is included and two weak coffees cost us almost $5! Food was good but breakfast is supposed to be the cheapest meal to go to! For 60 we could have gone for a nice lunch somewhere! Won't be going back.

Love this place. Service is always really good and they have the best pancakes ever! For something as simple as pancakes they sure are good. I have also had a few of their skillets. Very good. If you decided on something other than pancakes I recommend getting a side of it.

Best waffles EVER! Even though it was a busy Sunday we had good service and food was great!

My parents love this place but I wasn't crazy about it after coming here for breakfast this morning. I had an American cheese omelet which seems like it's good where ever you go. First few bites were great, then I crunched into a giant egg shell. Ugh. It totally grossed me out. I wanted the rest of my omelet but just couldn't eat anymore after that. Rest of the meal was good. Hashbrowns were good and the waitress was nice. Next time I'll get pancakes. UPDATE: I came back here with my mom and got the stuffed cinnamon apple French toast and it was amazing. Don't waste your time with the crunchy eggs, get the French toast.

Went to try this place out because I wasn't interested in waiting in the long lines at another place. So I checked of course my trusty yelp ratings and they didn't let me down. Thank you all who write reviews. I love it. This is definitely going to be my new place for breakfast. Went there on Saturday morning. Place has great parking, great service and not to mention awesome food. Service was excellent and efficient. They got my order right the first time since I usually have a special order on how I like my eggs. I was pleasantly surprised and absolutely loved my food. Would definitely recommend this place over and over again. Thanks for your reviews everyone.

El Paso skillet was good. Coffee ok, service was mediocre!!! They'll get a second chance.

It's a typical breakfast place. Good food but YIKES, very expensive. $2.29 for a cup of coffee with breakfast; $3.59 for orange juice! I would return but there are cheaper places that serve the same fate at a more reasonable price.

Nice restaurant at the corner of Cicero and 95th street. Entrance is Hilton Dr. off of 95th. Lots of parking, beside the spa. Great breakfast and lunch selections, but remember the restaurant closes at 3:00pm. Food was delicious, was delivered quickly, and the coffee and water glasses were kept full. Easy place to grab a meal when your waiting for your car at the dealership next door. WiFi was strong - but you need to ask for the psswd

Today I stopped in at Flap Jacks. This place is open for both breakfast and lunch. When you walk in there is a hostess station and one of the first things you notice is that this place has huge floor space (there used to be a Top Notch burger here). This is both good and bad. Yes, there is plenty of room and they can squeeze in a ton of tables. It is also overly open and makes you feel like you're in a cafeteria. So open in fact that the room actually echos and I can hear the conversations of people across the room. Upon entering I was seated right away. The hostess and the waitress were very friendly. For breakfeast I ordered the brocolli and cheese omelette with hashbrowns and pancakes. I also ordered a skirt steak skillet, eggs over easy, and pancakes. The taste of the omelette was just ok. It contained plenty of broccoli, the cheese was barely detectable and most unfortunately it was over cooked to where eggs were releasing their water... As for the skillet, my reaction was about the same. In this case the eggs tasted fine, but the skirt steak with bell pepper and onions were less than good. First of all, for the amount they charged, there was only about an ounce of meat, second, it tasted like there was absolutely no seasoning and the meat had a hint of sourness. The hashbrowns were fine, crisped ok and still soft. Tasted kind of familiar, so I think they're a frozen brand. Either way, they were fine. The pancakes themselves were decent. They were cooked fine, not overdone. They were good average pancakes. All in all, this meal had its good and bad points (more bad than good). If I was to order breakfast here again I would get pancakes and skip the eggs. I will stop in again to give them one more shot, this time maybe i'll try their lunch (hopefully better). Todays meal cost about $27.90. Not great at all for "ok" food. There are plenty of cheaper places locally.

The breakfast here in my opinion is just ok, it could be a lot better. I've tasted their skillets and their omelettes and they needed more seasoning. The pancakes are thin and like grainy(they don't taste nice and buttery like at other restaurants). I think Corner Bakery has way better pancakes. I've tasted the soup too, it's ok, it needed more seasoning in my opinion. The waitresses are very nice but it seems like they have way too many tables that it sometimes affects their service.

Had an incredible breakfast after leaving Midway Airport and needing a bite. Never expected such an amazing experience in this corner shop! A fantastic breakfast menu covering a multitude of pancake favors, Swedish pancakes, waffles, crepes and even blintzes! We tried the banana and Nutella crepes, cheese blintzes w/cherry sauce, and regular pancakes and eggs with a side of bacon AND kielbasa cooked on the griddle! Mmmmm!!! I was too hungry to take pics, but trust me-it was the BEST!! Just what we needed after such an early morning flight...now I won't complain about the Morning flights anymore because I know how to plan for it!!

Great Service with a SMILE! I am not a huge breakfast eater, but Flap Jacks was nice The food was good and quick. But of course it's Wednesday morning. I think it's good to have breakfast restaurant options such as Flap Jacks. I'm definitely going back with the kids.

Where to start... we've been sitting here for almost 30 minutes and my husband had to ask for them to bring the soup that is supposed to come with his meal. We both ordered iced tea which is so bad we're opting to drink the water. Something was spilled and whatever they used to clean smells like cat urine, the smell is getting stronger instead of fading. We are near the the register and the last 3 customers have complained about their food and service. I ordered hash and my hubby ordered a burger; my guess is they had to kill the cow and dig up the potatoes. There is literally no food coming out of the kitchen. Once food came things didn't get anymore exiting. All the food is from a can or from frozen. We ate a bit and decided we'll just snack later. This is not somewhere we will ever return.

breakfastrules.blogspot.… Overall, Flap-jacks did well. The service was good. Our waitress was a real charmer. The coffee was adequate and the food was good--but not quiet great. Cascio felt his skillet was OK but lacked a significant spread of cheese. Wizard Bear Rick thought his bacon waffles could have tasted "more bacony." He admitted that he had a touch of buyer's remorse similar to what Frank had last outing. Like me, the Wizard prefers his breakfasts more on the savory side. Going down sugar lane can sometimes yield less than impressive results, especially when you're more of an egg and cheese kind of guy. Regardless of that, I liked my french toast and my kielbasa even though I can never, ever see myself ordering a french toast and kielbasa combination ever again. I felt the french toast was good--maybe a bit too much on the decadent side. If you're into sweet breakfasts, I would recommend it. Mean Tom, who would like to add more detailed testament of his experience than he has in previous blogs, thought this was an average breakfast. He thought his eggs were cooked well, his kielbasa was OK(he didn't eat much of it), and his chocolate chip pancakes were delicious. Taken all into consideration, the new Flap-jacks in Oak Lawn gets a recommended rating of 3 snowy Brent faces.

Never fails to meet all my breakfast expectations. Absolutely fantastic, always fresh ingredients and waitstaff is very courteous. Flapjacks and Mediterranean omelette is my favorite.

LOVE that they added gluten free pancakes on the menu! I asked the waiter to please add chocolate chips-they were yummy! My grandma had the grilled cheese-perfect portion & she liked it.

This is my family favorite Breakfast Spot,we have been coming here for years. We love the new location and the decor is very modern. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is delicious,I always get French Toast whenever I order Breakfast.Their French is soooo good!! Although the last time we went they got order wrong ,they were apologetic and discounted our meal.Other than that I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

They refused to butter my toast and they charged me $3 for a plate to split an omelet with my wife.

Hard to say. . My mother in law was raving about flapjacks which she just tried out and enjoyed.one morning she treats me to breakfast at flapjacks.our opinions differ.their coffee is on the watery side, pancakes not impressive and eggs are okay. .not my favorite place for breakfast although I must say their decor is very nice and their waitress mary (I think that's her name) was a joy , very attentive & friendly. I'm sure my mother in law would give them more then 3 stars.i guess it all comes down to your taste buds.

This was our first time here and it was delicious. Oak lawn needed a classy breakfast place like flap jacks. We came in and got seated immediately. The staff was very friendly and our waiter Cano was perfect! He was friendly, patient and checked in frequently without disrupting us. So happy we stopped in today! We will be back!!!
